A deportation decision or entry ban can immediately affect a foreign national’s liberty, family life, travel and ability to remain in Türkiye. The first task is to obtain the written decision, identify its legal grounds and record when and how it was served. A code mentioned orally is not a substitute for the complete document.
Removal, entry restrictions and administrative detention are related but distinct measures. Each may have a different authority, legal remedy, deadline and evidential focus under Law No. 6458.
Request readable copies of the deportation decision, entry-ban information, invitation-to-leave paper, detention decision, interview or statement records and service documents. Passport pages, residence history and earlier applications should be organised chronologically.
If the person is detained, identify the removal centre and file number. Family members should preserve copies rather than sending the only originals.
The time for challenging an administrative measure can be short and depends on the decision. The service date is therefore critical. Filing in the wrong court or relying on an informal complaint can cause delay.
A court challenge does not have identical effects in every situation. The lawyer must assess the specific removal ground, statutory exceptions and any separate detention review.
Family relationships, long-term residence, health conditions, pending proceedings, risk in the destination country, victim status and compliance history may be relevant depending on the legal ground. Evidence should be official, current and connected to the disputed decision.
General character letters alone rarely replace documents that directly answer the authority’s allegation. If criminal or security information is involved, the available file and procedural limits require careful review.
Detention in a removal centre should be distinguished from a deportation decision. The reasons, continuation and available judicial review must be assessed separately. The person should receive interpretation and understand documents before signing.
Medical needs, vulnerability and access to counsel should be raised promptly through the appropriate procedure.
An entry ban may arise from removal, unlawful stay, unpaid public debts or other grounds. Duration and lifting possibilities depend on the legal basis. An expired period may not resolve unpaid fines or a separate restriction.
Do not attempt travel solely on the basis of an airline or intermediary’s assurance. Verify the current administrative position and any visa or annotated-visa requirement.
The competent procedure depends on the issuing authority and decision. Obtain the document and urgent legal advice.
The effect must be assessed under the current law and the specific removal ground; do not assume.
Separate public debts, codes or legal restrictions may still affect entry.
Request interpretation and do not sign factual statements you have not accurately understood.
